Adelaide: Statement of Water Assets and Water Liabilities

For the water account period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024

  • In the Adelaide region, water availability decreased by 29% during 2023–24 in response to changes in surface water assets.
  • Water availability is represented by the net water assets, which are the volume of water in storage minus the water liabilities.

Schematic representation of the Adelaide region. Total surface water and groundwater assets at 30 June 2023 was 229 GL. Total water liabilities was 60 GL. Closing net water assets on 30 June 2023 was 169 GL, 17% increase from last year.
