South East Queensland
1.3 Regulated river

Supporting Information

This water asset exists in the South East Queensland (SEQ) region, but the volume could not be quantified in a way that is complete, neutral and free from material error due to the lack of both data and a suitable quantification approach.

Regulated rivers are called supplemented rivers in Queensland. All rivers that are part of a water supply scheme (WSS) are considered as regulated rivers for the purpose of the 2011 Account. A map showing the WSS can be seen below.

More detail on exact location of regulated rivers can be obtained from the Gold Coast, Logan Basin and Moreton resource operation plans (ROPs).

The volume of water held within regulated rivers was considered to be substantial but the variation of this volume from year to year was not considered to be substantial. Therefore, the omission of this information from the water accounting statements will have a material impact on the volume reported for the surface water store but not on the change in assets as reported, nor the unaccounted-for difference of the store. Further information may be found in the Surface water note.
