22.1 Groundwater allocation announcements

The volume presented in the water accounting statements (39,545 ML) represents groundwater allocations for licensed entitlements and stock and domestic (S&D) entitlements in groundwater management units in the Melbourne region during the 2010–11 year:

•  Groundwater allocations for licensed entitlements were equal to the sum of licensed entitlement volumes held in groundwater management units in the Melbourne region during the 2010–11 year.
• Groundwater allocations for S&D entitlements were equal to the sum of S&D entitlement volumes held in Groundwater Management Units in the Melbourne Region during the 2010–11 year.

Groundwater allocations in the Melbourne region were calculated using the following methods.
Allocation announcements are equal to the licensed entitlement volumes for each groundwater management unit.
The groundwater allocation for stock and domestic entitlements was equal to the number of S&D bores
in groundwater management units multiplied by the 2 ML entitlement per bore.
