10.2 Groundwater inflow from outside region at coast
The volume of groundwater movement between aquifers within the Daly region and aquifers outside the region along the coast cannot be quantified accurately due to lack of available data.
The coastal region is dominated by fractured rock aquifers with a local groundwater flow system. The nature of these aquifers is such that regional groundwater flow (over distances >10 km) is limited. Consequently, it is estimated that very little inflow or outflow occurs between aquifers within the Daly region and aquifers outside the region along the coast. The omission of this volume does not have a material impact on the water balance of the groundwater store.
