1.2 Unregulated river

Supporting information

The entire river system within the Daly region is considered to be unregulated; however, the volume of water in unregulated river storage was not recognised as it could not be adequately quantified.

The rivers in the Daly region have relatively low flows during the middle of the dry season (May–September). As the dry season coincides with the start and end of the reporting period, it is likely that the amount of water stored in unregulated rivers at the start and end of the year will change little; however, despite the dry season conditions at 30 June, the volume of water held in rivers is still the largest component of the surface water store in the Daly region.
