19.14 Decrease of urban inter-region claim on water

Supporting Information

The decrease of urban inter-region claim on water is 0 ML.

Water supply from the Fish River Water Supply Scheme (FRWSS) is based on water supply agreements between NSW State Water Corporation and its customers, including Lithgow City Council (LCC) and Delta Electricity. NSW State Water Corporation has a deemed water management licence for the FRWSS and operates it in collaboration with the Customer Council, of which LCC and Delta Electricity are members.

For the purpose of the 2011 Account, Delta Electricity and Lithgow City Council's allocation announcement on the FRWASS) was assumed to be 5,399 ML, equivalent to the volume diverted by Delta Electricity and Lithgow City Council under the FRWSS (5,183 ML see line item 11.9) plus the stated 2011 carry-over of 216 ML.

Therefore the volume forfeited at the end of the reporting year is equal to the allocation announcement (line item 11.15), minus the delivery (line item 11.9) and the 2011 carry-over volume (line item 3.4).

Quantification Approach

Data Source

Delta Electricity and Lithgow City Council: data spreadsheets.

Provided by

Delta Electricity and Lithgow City Council: delivery volumes. Bureau of Meteorology: calculated forfeiture volumes.

Method

Volumes are calculated from annual allocation, carry-over volume and metered supply data. Metered supply data are based on flow measurements by NSW State Water Corporation using ABB Magflow meters. The calculation is shown in the following table.
