13.2 Adjustment and forfeiture of surface water allocation – urban water system

The volume recognised in the surface water statements is 23,162 ML that represents the total forfeiture of surface water allocations for the urban water system in the Canberra region during the 2012–13 year.
For the purpose of the 2013 Account, any volume of water allocated to ACTEW under its urban water licence (line item 21.2 Surface water allocation announcements – urban water system) that has not been diverted (line item 17.12 Surface water allocation diversion – urban water system) has been considered as forfeited.

Method
Unused allocation at 30 June 2013 was considered as forfeiture. Diversions from Bendora, Corin, Cotter and Googong reservoirs together with diversions from the Murrumbidgee River were subtracted from the allocated volume (line item 17.12 Surface water allocation diversion–urban water system).
