35.2 Trade of surface water entitlement into region

The volumetric value for the line item for the 2012–13 year was 0 ML. No surface water entitlement trade occurred into the Murray–Darling Basin (MDB) region from the external source, or between the Northern and Southern basins. Currently there are no protocols in place to permit water trade into or out of the MDB region.

(1) Murray–Darling Basin Authority: water audit monitoring (WAM) data received from New South Wales (24 March 2014), Queensland (5 February 2014), South Australia (17 March 2014), and Victoria (14 February 2014), and stored in the HYDRO database; (2) Environmental and Sustainable Development Directorate of the ACT Government: entitlement database; and (3) National Water Commission's water trading data for the 2012–13 year.
