1.4 Lakes and wetlands

Supporting information

The volume of water within lakes and wetlands cannot be quantified accurately due to a lack of available data and therefore is not presented in the Statement of Water Assets and Water Liabilities.

The volume of water held in lakes and wetlands is relatively small in size compared to the volume of water in storages (line item 1.1 Storages). As such, even though the lakes and wetlands are a vital part of the environment, the omission of the volume in the statements is not considered to have a material impact on total surface water assets.
