No volume is recognised in the water accounting statements (–) despite the existence of diffuse groundwater discharge to landscape water. No volume has been recognised because a net figure was established that accounts for both groundwater recharge and discharge. In Melbourne region, a net groundwater recharge occurred in 2009–10 (see Line item 15.2.1 Diffuse groundwater recharge from landscape water).
