Water restrictions

                             

Easing of urban water restrictions

During 2009–10, storage levels in reservoirs managed by Melbourne Water increased. These increases enabled water restrictions in the region to be eased from Stage 3a to Stage 3 in March 2010 (as shown in the table below).

Storage levels in storages managed by Southern Rural Water increased from 5% to 7.5% of capacity during 2009–10.

Diversion bans

During 2009–10, bans applied to diversions from 26 unregulated streams as well as to irrigation and regulated diversions from some streams (see table below).
