Canberra
13.1 Adjustment and forfeiture of surface water allocation
Supporting information
The volume reported in the water accounting statements is 1,832 ML. The adjustment and forfeiture of surface water allocation remaining corresponds to the volume of water allocation that cannot be carried over between water years.
Due to limited data availability the volume of surface water diverted under access licences and the carry-over volume could not be quantified. Therefore, for the purposes of the National Water Account, the adjustment and forfeiture of surface water allocation remaining was calculated as shown in the following table.
Prior to the 2012–13 year, surface water liabilties were not recognised in the Canberra region because there were no licences issued; therefore the associated adjustment and forfeiture of allocation in the comparative year was 0 ML.
