13.1 Adjustment and forfeiture of surface water allocation

Supporting information

The volume presented in the water accounting statements (7,229 ML) represents the forfeiture of allocation for high reliability and low reliability water shares in the Bacchus Marsh Irrigation District, Werribee River, and Werribee Irrigation District within the Melbourne region during the 2012–13 year.

Individual water share holders cannot carry over unused water from year to year; therefore, the volume reported at this line item is the difference between the volume allocated during the year and the volume diverted during the year as shown in the following table.
