Supporting information

Water supply from the Fish River Water Supply Scheme is based on water supply agreements between New South Wales State Water Corporation and its customers, including Lithgow City Council, Delta Electricity, and the Sydney Catchment Authority.

Each agency has an annual maximum allocation entitlement from the Fish River Water Supply Scheme to supply water to their storages. This entitlement is subject to a number of operating rules and restrictions depending on the levels observed in the supply storages (Oberon Dam and Duckmaloi Weir). There is also the ability to carry-over a maximum of 20% of the total allocation into the following year.

The total maximum allocation entitlement recognised in the water accounting statements is shown in the table below. No restrictions were in place over the entire 2012–13 year; therefore the maximum allocation limit and carry-over volumes were applicable for the 2012–13 year.

Method

Volumes based on maximum allocation entitlement information from the New South Wales State Water Water Management Licence for the Fish River Water Supply Scheme. The maximum allocation volume is assumed to be the allocation announcement for the 2012–13 year.

Assumptions, limitations, caveats and approximations
