The volume reported in the water accounting statements (142 ML) represents recycled water from the Victor Harbor Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) that is temporarily stored in Hindmarsh Reservoir during summer and then released to the Inman River in the winter months.

Measured meter data relating to the volume of recycled water produced by the Victor Harbor WWTP and released into the Inman River during 2009–10 was obtained from SA Water WWTP records.
Uncertainty is +/–10% based on meter calibrations.
The line item does not include any discharge from community waste management schemes, including the Port Elliot WWTP, which are managed by local councils.
