Method
The volume of water reported under this line item (1,941 ML) equals the total amount abstracted from the Murrumbidgee River. This value was obtained from ActewAGL production records for the 2009–10 reporting year.

Assumptions, approximations and caveats/limitations
- A portin of the volume of water reported in this line item will form part of the 4,681 ML of excess treated water that is released from the Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant into Googong Reservoir. The transfer of this water is reported in line item 13.8 Other lumped surface water increase and 20.7 Other lumped water distribution system decreases.
- This volume does not include the environmental flow diversion fof 799ML which was diverted from Murrumbidgee River to Cotter River as this diversion is not for the purpose of urban water supply.
