Water for urban use (public water supply and irrigation) (71,000 ML)

Urban water utility water access entitlements are granted by the ACT Government Department of Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Water and specify the volume of water that ActewAGL is entitled to use annually for the purpose of urban supply of potable water to Canberra, Queanbeyan and Weetalabah Estate. ActewAGL maintains water within the distribution system for delivery to the urban areas, but the actual delivery of the water is determined by the customers when they use the water. A maximum of 71,000 ML will be available for urban water supply in the next reporting period (from both regulated and unregulated surface water stores), as this is the annual water access entitlement volume. However, the actual volume used will depend on consumer demand.
