Stage 3 water restrictions were also imposed by ACTEW throughout the entire 2009–10 reporting period. Full details of the Stage 3 water restrictions can be found on the ACTEW Save Water for Life website and in the Scheme of Temporary Restrictions.

Mandatory water conservation measures were also in place in the Palerang Council for Captains Flat urban water supply during the water reporting period. Details of these can be found from the Palerang Council Website.
Water use in the Canberra region is also restricted to the bounds of the Murray-Darling Basin Cap. A net volume of 40,000 ML/year is able to be extracted from surface water sources in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
