This item reports on allocations announcements made under a specific S&D entitlement. Such type of entitlement is needed for diversion for S&D purposes only when the property is not adjacent to the river. If the property is adjacent to the river, there is no allocation announcement, as the diversion occurs under other statutory basic right. Additional details on the line item are as follows:

  • New South Wales data include the domestic and stock, domestic and stock (domestic) and domestic and stock (stock) licence classes.
  • South Australian data are included in Line item 25.1.2.5.
  • No information relative to the specific entitlement classes was available in the WAM data for Victoria. See Line item 25.1.9.7 Allocation announcement on regulated flows – other lumped holders for values lumped for all entitlement classes.

Quantification approach

Data source

Australian Capital Territory: Water Audit Monitoring Report 2009–10 (30 November 2010).
New South Wales: NSW Office of Water’s Water Accounting section.
Queensland: Water Audit Monitoring Report 2009–10 (31 January 2011).
South Australia: Water Audit Monitoring Report 2009–10 (22 February 2011).
Victoria: Water Audit Monitoring Report 2009–10 (19 January 2011).

Note: Water audit monitoring (WAM) report data are stored in the Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) HYDRO database.

Data provider

MDBA.

Method

Allocation announcement is as calculated by the states.

Uncertainty

WAM-sourced data do not have any uncertainty information on allocation remaining. The uncertainty of the remaining data are shown in the table ‘Allocation announced on regulated flows for stock and domestic (S&D) water access entitlement category for Murray–Darling Basin (MDB) for 2009–10’.

Approximations, assumptions, caveats/limitations

  • Uncertainty reported by NSW Office of Water accounts for possible errors in the data handling processes.
