Estimated water diversions for water licences for stock and domestic use
Water Resource Plan (WRP) area No. of water licences Estimated diversion (ML)

Total SEQ region 1,992

Quantification approach

Data source

Queensland Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM), Water Entitlement Register Database and Water Management System database.

Data provider

DERM.

Method

An estimate has been made of the water licences for stock and domestic use of water within the SEQ region. The total number of properties with water licences for stock and domestic use was multiplied by an assumed diversion rate of 2 ML per property to obtain an estimate of the volume abstracted.

Uncertainty

Derived from estimated data. Ungraded.

Approximations, assumptions, caveats and limitations

The assumed diversion rate of 2 ML per property may not be appropriate for all users and adds uncertainty to the estimated value.
