25.1.9.3 Allocation announcement/claim recognition on regulated flows—industrial and commercial holder

Supporting information

This line item reflects the liability to the connected surface water store from the allocation/claim for the water distribution system store (Line item 23.12 Nonphysical water distribution system increases—other lumped) associated with industrial and commercial entitlement holders.

The volumetric value for the allocation/claim from regulated entitlements for industrial and commercial holders for 2009–10 is 25,000 ML. This value is based on Delta Electricity’s entitlements stated in the Water Management Licence and an assumed allocation of 100% at the beginning of 2009–10.

As stated in the Water Management Licence, Delta Electricity is entitled to take and use up to 23,000 ML/year from the Coxs River water source. In the event that Delta Electricity’s supplies from the Fish River Water Supply Scheme are reduced by 30% or more, Delta Electricity is entitled to obtain an additional 2,000 ML/year from the Coxs River water source. Accordingly, the 2009–10 entitlement from the Coxs River water source was 25,000 ML.

Quantification approach

Data source

Data provider

  • The Bureau of Meteorology: calculated allocation announcement/claim.
  • The NSW Office of Water and Delta Electricity: entitlement data.

Method

The volumetric value for the announced allocation/claim from regulated flows for the industrial and commercial holder category was derived by:

  • mapping entitlement values stated in the draft water sharing plan and Delta Electricity Water Management Licence to the entitlement category.
  • applying an assumed allocation 100% at the beginning of 2009–10.

Uncertainty

The announced allocation/claim was estimated. Uncertainty is ungraded.
