5.2 Surface water allocation remaining – urban water system

The volume recognised in the water accounting statements of 2,961 ML represents the volume of surface water allocation remaining for urban water supply licence entitlements in the Daly region at the end of the 2012–13 year.
The urban water supply licences relate to the following surface water resources:
- Katherine River for Katherine town supply
- Copperfield Creek for Pine Creek town supply.

Method
The water supply licences for Katherine and Pine Creek have a water management year that ends on 30 April. Therefore, the allocation remaining at the end of the 2012–13 year for the Daly region is the unused component of the annual allocation for these urban licences.
The allocation remaining was calculated as shown in the following table.
