The volumetric value for the line item at the end of the 2012–13 year was 2,050 ML.

Under Chapter 2 (s206) of the Queensland Water Act 2000 (the Water Act), water licence applications can be made by landowners and other specified entities to take or use water ('abstract' according to 2013 Account terminology) or interfere with flow of water.

Other authorisations applicable under Chapter 2 of the Water Act include seasonal water assignment of a water licence (s231) or a water permit (s237).

There were 24 permits (1 in Logan and 23 in Moreton) in South East Queensland current as at 30 June 2013 for a total entitlement of 2,050 ML.
