South East Queensland
37.1 Surface water allocation trade within region

Supporting information

The volumetric value for the line item at the end of the 2012–13 year was 664 ML.

In Queensland the trade of allocations after announcements have been made is called 'temporary trading' or 'seasonal water assignment' but was previously know as 'temporary transfers'. This represents the assignment to another person of part or all of the water allocation available under a water entitlement for a water year. Both supplemented and unsupplemented water entitlements can be seasonally assigned in Queensland; however, there were no temporary trades of unsupplemented water in the South East Queensland (SEQ) region in the 2012–13 year.

The following table presents the volumes of supplemented seasonal water assignments in the SEQ region during the 2012–13 year.
