6.1 Groundwater allocation remaining

The volume recognised in the water accounting statements of 58,205 ML represents the volume of groundwater allocation remaining for individual user licence entitlements at the end of the 2012–13 year.
The Department of Land Resource Management (The Department) administers 163 separate licences in this category held by individual licensees. Licences primarily relate to water sourced from the Tindall, Oolloo, and Jinduckin groundwater sources for the agricultural and industrial sectors.

Method
The groundwater supply licences for the region have a water management year that ends on 30 April. Therefore, the allocation remaining at the end of the 2012–13 year for the Daly region is the unused component of the annual allocation for these licences.
The allocation remaining was calculated as shown in the following table.
