5.3 Surface water allocation remaining – irrigation scheme

Supporting information

The volume recognised in the water accounting statements (270,673 ML) represents the surface water allocation remaining for bulk irrigation surface water entitlements within the Ord region at the end of the 2012–13 year. Irrigation water is diverted from the main Ord River channel for supply to the Ord River Irrigation Area.

The irrigation scheme licences relate to the following areas:

  • Ivanhoe and Packsaddle irrigation districts (Ord Irrigation Cooperative)
  • M1 channel (Water Corporation).

Method

The two water supply licences for the Ord River Irrigation Area do not have a water management year that ends on 30 June. Therefore, the allocation remaining at the end of the 2012–13 year for the Ord region is the unused component of the annual allocation for these two irrigation licences.

The allocation remaining at 30 June 2013 was calculated as shown in the following table.
