The
grids show the sunshine-hour values across Australia in the form of
two-dimensional array data.
The mean data are based on stations with at least
15 years of records.

Lineage
|
Gridded data were generated using the Barnes 2-D
meteorological analysis. Approximately 90 stations were used in the analysis and
station data underwent at a high degree of quality control before analysis.
Most of the stations used in the analysis have at least 15
years of records, with at least 80% complete data over the recorded period.
The bright sunshine data that were used in producing the
grids were from the Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorders. |

Positional Accuracy
|
The observational (station) data on which the analyses
were based have an associated accuracy of the order of 0.01 degrees
(approximately 1km) or better.

|
Grid point data are post processed.
