When you are planning an outdoor event or doing some travelling, you want a good idea about the range of weather conditions to prepare for.
The Climate calendar shows a summary of the typical weather for any day of the year at nearly 1700 locations around Australia. It lists the average weather conditions, how often it has rained around that time of the year and the highest and lowest temperature recorded on that day.
Example: Melbourne Cup day

The Climate calendar is available from Climate Data Online. Select a location using the Text or Map search.
Note that the weather can vary significantly from one year to the next, so the Climate Calendar is a guide only, and should not be considered a forecast.
More detailed statistics for these locations is also available from Climate Data Online.

Climate Data Online provides access to a range of statistics, recent weather observations and climate data from the Australian Data Archive for Meteorology (pdf), a database which holds weather observations dating back to the mid 1800s for some sites. We are progressively increasing the range of data available online, in a variety of data formats including tables, data files (csv), PDF, graphs and maps. Climate Data Online also provides the capability to compare and review the data.
