Greater Sydney in September 2018: relatively cool conditions and average rainfall

Greater Sydney in September 2018 was relatively cool. Monthly maximum temperatures were close to the station averages, while minimum temperatures were generally below the station average. Monthly rainfall totals were slightly below average, except around Canterbury and Bankstown where there was a severe thunderstorm on the 7th.

Slightly below average rainfall

• There was steady rainfall across Greater Sydney in the first week of September, and on the 26th and 27th
• Monthly totals were slightly below average, except around the Canterbury-Bankstown area
• A major thunderstorm on the 7th resulted in totals of 30-60 mm in the 24 hours to 9am on the 8th. The highest total was 67.0 mm at Bankstown Airport
