Greater Sydney in September 2021: warm days, drier than usual

September daytime temperatures across Greater Sydney were generally warmer than average, while nights were close to or slightly cooler than average. It was drier than usual, with total rainfall around 40 to 80% of the September average across much of Greater Sydney.

• September was drier than usual for most of Greater Sydney.
• Monthly totals were around 40 to 80% of their September average in most areas, but close to average in the Northern Beaches.

• Thunderstorms were observed on the 29th and 30th, with hail up to 2 cm in diameter and 5 to 10 mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am on the 30th.

Warm days, cooler than average nights
