Australian Hourly Wind Data
| All recorded
wind speed and direction data have been compiled for stations
across Australia, some islands and the Antarctic. The number of
observations per day varies between sites, but is generally
between 1 observation (usually 9am) and 8 observations per day at
three hourly intervals. Some stations do have gaps in the data
record. |
| |
| The data for approximately 1740
stations are held on one CD ROM as compressed text files. The
total size of the data is approximately 3000 Mbyte. For each station the corresponding data file contains
all available observations from the start of recording until the
latest available.
|
|
| |
| The CD ROM contains additional
information to help describe the process behind the wind
observations. Included on the CD ROM are some details on
observational instructions, and a brief section on technical
notes and further references.
|
| |
| A companion product, IDCJDC06, provides daily wind information
including daily mean wind speed, wind gust and wind run
data. |
