High rainfall totals across northern Australia and eastern Queensland
- The highest weekly rainfall totals were across northern and eastern Australia following several days of showers and thunderstorm activity.
- On 30 December thunderstorms brought heavy rainfall across south-eastern Queensland, with daily rainfall totals in the 24 hours to 9 am on 31 December between 50 to 100 mm and above 100 mm in some isolated areas.
- Weekly totals of 25 to 50 mm were recorded across northern, central and southern Queensland, the Top End of the Northern Territory, parts of north-west Western Australia and pockets of north-western New South Wales.
- Weekly totals of 50 to 100 mm were recorded across south-eastern, central and northern parts of Queensland, areas across the Top End of the Northern Territory, isolated areas of north-west Western Australia, with falls greater than 100 mm in some isolated areas.
- The highest weekly total was 235.0 mm at Mackay Alert in Queensland and the highest daily total was 149.4 mm at Kingaroy (Qld), in the 24 hours to 9 am on 31 December.
