What's New December 2024
The latest Groundwater Explorer release is here. New features include updated bore and log data from the National Groundwater Information System (NGIS) with over 19,400 additional bores, groundwater levels with data current to December 2024 with over 1800 additional bores and data from one new data supplier, and groundwater salinity with data current to August 2024 with over 2000 additional bores.
The December 2024 release is the first part of a two-stage release. The second and final stage will be completed in early 2025 and will make the updated data packages available for downloading. If data packages are required prior to release completion, please email water@bom.gov.au for assistance.
A minor version update of the National Aquifer Framework (version 5.1) has been published in September 2024, following the major version update (version 5.0) in May 2024. In NAF version 5.1, the connection between the State/Territory units and NAF units were removed from the main NAF worksheet, with a new worksheet developed showing this relationship more clearly ("04-State Territory HGUs to NAF").
