What's New May 2026
The Groundwater Explorer has been released with updated data. It has over 30,000 additional bores, groundwater level records current to May 2026 and salinity records current to November 2025. Updated data packages are now available for download with 666 zipped files that include 8 states and 214 river regions, in geodatabase, shapefile and kml formats. Note it is not yet possible to search for the new bores; this will be updated soon.
Data was updated for the Groundwater Insight in March 2026. New features include updated groundwater level trend and status for 2024-25, updated groundwater management information including groundwater use and entitlement data for 2023-24 and 12 years of groundwater use data for Murray-Darling Basin areas, up until 2023-24.
