Geofabric
To use the Geofabric please download or access the data.
Data formats
The Geofabric is available in an Esri File Geodatabase format.
Systems must be compatible with Esri ArcGIS 10.3 or above.
Download the Geofabric data from the Geofabric FTP site. Version 2.1.1 products are still available from the version2 subfolder.
Web services
Version 3x web services are available and can be accessed through the Australian Water Data Service (AWDS).
Sample toolset
A sample toolset has been developed to perform the common hydrological task of creating catchments for a set of user defined points using the Geofabric with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop. Download the Sample toolset from the Geofabric FTP site. The Sample toolset tutorial (4.2Mb) provides instructions on how to use the standard workflow tools in the toolset.
Access to, and use of the Geofabric should comply with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
Network Gauging Station Points
In Version 3 Gauging Stations have been included as Network Nodes in the Surface Hydrology Network product, with links to Water Data Online (WDO) time series data. Use of these gauging station points with the sample toolset enables bulk download of WDO time series data records in a package ready for use with related Geofabric features. Version 2 includes a Network Ghost Node Beta Monitoring Point package with attribution that provides the same capability.
