The West Coast of Tasmania Method

Method of Storm Transposition and Maximisation for estimating PMP

Map

The West Coast of Tasmania Method of Storm Transposition and Maximisation was developed for estimating PMP for durations between 24 and 72 hours in the west coast of Tasmania. The west coast of Tasmania is defined as that part of Tasmania outside the region of applicability of the Tasmanian GSAM Coastal Zone.

The geographical boundaries between the Tasmanian GSAM Coastal Zone and the West Coast of Tasmania are given in the above diagram.

Development of the West Coast of Tasmania Method of Storm Transposition and Maximisation took place between 1996 and 2000 and is documented in the Hydrology Report Series, Report No. 7 (HRS7, 2001).
