The Bureau of Meteorology’s Water Restrictions website provides access to current water restrictions information for the whole of Australia. Water restrictions information can be searched by State or Territory, water agency and restriction name. Water restriction names and rules vary throughout Australia due to local requirements.

Permanent Water Saving Rules are designed to reflect the value that the community places on water. They set out common sense rules that encourage the efficient use of water to avoid wasting this precious resource.

Permanent Water Saving Rules apply only to the use of drinking water supplied by Western Water. They do not apply to the use of spring or bore water, recycled water, grey water, or rainwater collected in a storage tank that is not supplemented by Western Water supply.
