Many organisations currently transfer data to the Bureau for flood warning purposes. This data is vital for our flood forecasting and warning role and the continuation of this service is a high priority. The transfer typically uses the Bureau-defined 'HCS' data transfer format. Organisations supplying this type of data should leave their existing HCS data exporting and transfer processes in place. The Bureau is investigating methods to combine data transfer of flood forecasting and warning data with data that is required under the Water Regulations 2008.
